Sustainability, social justice and diversity in the Australian curriculum
While this is a Tier III indicator, Australia would like to provide some information against this Indicator:
Concepts of sustainability, social justice and diversity are embedded in the Australian school curriculum, which equips the next generation with the capacity to bring about positive change to our environment and social systems, not just in Australia but across the world. Australian school children also learn the value of belonging to, and engaging in, civic life in order to better contribute to the global community.
In addition to this, Australia is participating in the OECD’s Education 2030 project, which aims to develop a multi-dimensional framework of 21st century learning outcomes which can support countries in designing, developing and reviewing their own national curriculum and assessment systems.
