Remittance costs
The Pacific remains a high-cost remittance corridor. By the end of 2017, the average cost of sending money from Australia to the Pacific has decreased to 10.9 per cent of a $200 transfer, the lowest level since the World Bank began tracking costs in 2011.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been actively advocating for the further reduction in remittance costs and has funded the SendMoneyPacific website, a comparison website which makes it easier to compare remittance costs. The website is located at https://www.sendmoneypacific.org/
