The federal State Discrimination Act 1984 (s 24) prohibits a person, whether as principal or agent, to discriminate against another person on the grounds of their sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, marital or relationship status, pregnancy or potential pregnancy, or breastfeeding on the disposal of land.
It is unlawful to refuse or fail to dispose of an estate or interest in land to another person, or in the terms or conditions on which an estate or interest in land is offered to the other person. The section does not apply in relation to the disposal of an estate or interest in land by will or by way of gift.
